New Balance 9.0e Elliptical

A Detailed Review of the New Balance 9.0 Elliptical Trainer
Strengths:

18" Stride - This is pretty good for an elliptical at this price point.  Some weaker ellipticals will give you 14 - 15" stride lengths.

The larger stride length helps you work the full range of leg muscles and burn maximum calories.  Although taller users may want to try a 20" stride found on Sole ellipticals, this is still a pretty decent stride length

Oversized FootPedals - The Conform foot platforms have a skid-resistant surface and are oversized so you can find the most comfortable position for your feet while working out.

The Foot Pedals are also placed fairly close together which reduces strain on the hips, especially for smaller framed individuals.

Heart Rate Monitor - It's fairly easy to stay in your target heart rate zone.  Hand grips offer built in pulse grip sensors for continuous heart rate information

Warranty - The warranty of 10 years on frame, 2 years on electronics and 1 year on parts is actually quite good considering the price point.

Weaknesses:

The console is a bit simplistic and we found it a bit hard to read.  Also, this model has been around for a while.  And at this price, there are a lot of other models that give you more for your money.

Bottom Line:

You do get some good basics with the New Balance 9.0e elliptical including decent warranty, heart rate monitor,18" stride and oversized foot pedals. So if you really like the New Balance name, you may be fine with this elliptical.

However when you consider what's out there at this price point (like the Nordic Track, Schwinn and even Proform models) you'll see that the 9.0e falls short in terms of workout programs, console options, fitness tools and more.
