Strengths:
2 Side Flywheel Design Adds Comfort To Your Workout - You may have noticed this design in many of the high end commercial elliptical trainers. It's a trend that is slowly creeping into the residential elliptical market.
The main advantage to this design is that it places your body a little more upright on the machine. You don't have to lean as much to reach the handlebars - which can give you a more effective workout. Plus the foot pedals are placed slightly closer together so it may feel more comfortable and natural than front or back flywheel models.
iPod Dock with Speakers- You can plug in, charge and play your iPod through 2 built in speakers. This is a great feature to help keep your workouts fun and energizing.
Up to 22" Stride Length - With this elliptical you can choose different stride lengths: from 18" - 22". The 22" is one of the longest stride lengths you can find on an elliptical. The larger stride length means you work the full range of leg muscles and can actually burn more calories for a better workout overall.
Plus the multiple stride options make this a great elliptical for families. Shorter people will probably prefer the 18" stride and taller users will love the 22" stride.
20 Personal Trainer Workouts - If you need a workout challenge, you can choose from 20 different built in workouts designed by a personal trainer. The programs automatically adjust your resistance based on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals.
Weaknesses:
While the value is excellent for the current price point, this is still a starter elliptical. So it's not going to give you a top health club elliptical feel. Also, it may take some people a bit of time to get used to the elliptical motion - which feels slightly different than standard front or rear-drive designed ellipticals.
Also, we found the console a bit dark so it may be hard to read if you're in a dimly lit area. For a similar machine with a better console and a few more luxury options, see the Nordic Track ACT elliptical.
Summary: Good Value For A Starter Elliptical

You also get extra long stride lengths of up to 22", iPod dock with built-in speakers, 20 personal trainer workouts and an iFit fitness journal for up to 2 users.
While the actual elliptical movement feels a bit different than standard ellipticals, overall, the Proform Crosswalk is a great value if you want one of the longest stride lengths for under $1000.
