Proform Perspective 1000 Elliptical Trainer
A Review of the Proform 1000 Elliptical & Where To Buy It At A Discount
Strengths:
1) 7" Interactive Flat Screen TV Built Into the Console - You can watch TV and view your workout display at the same time (or just choose to watch TV). When the TV is not on, the screen displays you workout stats. While there are several treadmills with TV's built into the consoles, this is the first home elliptical we've seen with a built-in TV.
2) 18" Stride For Better Lower Body Workouts - Many cheaper ellipticals offer stride lengths of only 14 or 16 inches. The larger stride length ensures you work the full range of leg muscles and burn maximum calories. This longer stride length is also appreciated by taller users or those with longer legs.
3) 24 Built-In Workouts To Keep You Challenged - You can choose from 20 different personal trainer designed workouts which adjust the resistance and move you towards a specific goal like weight loss or better performance.
There's also 2 workouts that specifically focus on keeping you in your target fat-burning range. Then there's 2 more workouts that you can create and customize for yourself.
4) Target Pacer - This is a feature light on the console that indicates when you need to work harder or slow down your pace to stay in your target range.
5) Heart Rate Monitor - Stay in your target heart rate zone with the heart rate monitor built into the arm bar grips.
Weaknesses:
While the TV is a great feature, the elliptical itself is fairly simple. It's still an entry level machine without a lot of bells and whistles. Also, taller users (over 5'8") may want to step up to a 20" stride found on the Sole ellipticals.
Summary:
The Proform Perspective 1000 elliptical offers something other budget machines do not - a built-in Console TV with speakers. That alone makes it unique and very popular with buyers.
You also get a decent 18" stride, heart rate monitor and several built in workout programs. Taller users may want a little more stride and sturdier construction found on the Sole ellipticals.
But if you're on a budget and want an elliptical with TV, you'll probably be very happy with the Proform Perspective 1000. Proform usually sells it around $1200 but if you can get it at the current sale price above it's a pretty good buy.
Where To Buy At A Discount:
You can buy the Proform Perspective 1000 is direct from the Proform Manufacturer and save on store markup. For a short time they're also throwing in Free Shipping which can save you about $150.
An elliptical with TV is almost impossible to find (unless you want to look at the $3000 commercial models). The Perspective elliptical comes with a 7" Flat Screen TV and built-in console speakers.
The elliptical also comes with a decent 18" stride, front drive mechanics, 24 different workout programs, heart rate monitor and built in workout fan to keep you cool.
