A Detailed Review of the Smooth CE Plus Elliptical
Strengths:
19" Stride - One of the biggest complaints with the older Smooth CE elliptical was that it only had a 16" stride. A larger stride length helps to work your muscles more fully and gives you a much better overall workout. Plus taller users or those who really like to pick up the pace on their elliptical will appreciate the longer stride length.
50 lb Flywheel - This helps to make the CE Plus extremely stable and gives it a very smooth feel while working out
Advanced, Commercial Grade Console - This is one of the most attractive, club-like consoles we've come across. It has a blue back-lit display which makes it easy -to-read, 48 built in workout programs with 4 user profiles and a USB interface for interactive software training.
Excellent Warranty - With a lifetime warranty on frame and brakes, 5 year on parts and 1 year on labor,this is simply one of the best warranties in the industry. It also tells you something about the quality of parts used in construction.
55" Footprint - If space in an issue - but you still want a commercial grade elliptical the Smooth CE Plus is a great option. It boasts the longest stride (19") in the smallest footprint available. There's also transport rollers underneath the frame's front base to make it easy to move the elliptical.
Weaknesses:
Because this is a private labelled machine, Smooth doesn't have the freedom to give you the discounted price that it can on it's other 3 elliptical trainers. So while this is a high quality, German-designed elliptical, the price is still a bit on the high side.
If you're looking for commercial quality, good design and an even larger 21" stride length (for less money) check out the Smooth CE 7.4 elliptical.
Summary:
The Smooth CE Plus Elliptical trainer is a well-designed, highly stable elliptical that was built to last a long time and covered by an excellent warranty. The strengths of this elliptical are the 19" stride, advanced electronics, 48 workout programs heavy flywheel which gives you a smooth workout feel. Plus it has one of the smallest footprints for a commercial grade elliptical.
On the other hand, the price may be a bit much for some and we would probably recommend the Smooth CE 7.4 elliptical or even the CE 3.2 as overall better values for your money.
