A Review of the NordicTrack Audiostrider 600 Elliptical & Where To Find It At A Discount
Strengths:
Folds Up With Space Saving Design - While many treadmills fold, it can be hard to find an elliptical that folds up. The Audiostrider 600 folds into a compact 48"L x 24"W compact area.
18 Inch Stride Length - Many cheaper ellipticals offer stride lengths of only 14 or 16 inches. The larger stride length ensures you work the full range of leg muscles and burn maximum calories. This longer stride length is also appreciated by taller users or those with longer legs.
4 Personal Trainer Workouts, 2 Heart Rate Workouts - The 4 Personal Trainer workouts automatically adjust the resistance of the elliptical based on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals. The 2 Heart Rate workouts help you stay in your target heart rate training zone by automatically increasing the resistance when you need to raise your heart rate and decreasing the resistance when you need to lower it. If you need even more workouts, the Audiostrider 600 is iFit card compatible.
ClearView™ Backlit Display - With many economy ellipticals, it can be hard to read the console display. The Blue backlit display on the Audiostrider 600 makes it easy to read the console even if the lighting in your workout area isn't the best.
Heart Rate Monitor - You can monitor your heart rate using either the handle bars with built-in pulse sensors.
Weaknesses:
While the Audiostrider 600 has some great things going for it, it really isn't recommended for heavier users or vigorous workouts. The user weight capacity is a bit low at 275 lbs.
Plus we would have liked to see a longer parts warranty on the Nordic track 600 elliptical (parts and labor are covered for 1 year but you can buy extra coverage on checkout). However at this price point, all warranties are pretty much the same (or even less) than this.
Summary: Recommended Only If on A Budget
If you're on a budget but still want a decent elliptical with a longer stride length, the Nordic Track Audiostrider 600 elliptical is one of the better models out there.
It's got some decent basics like a heart rate monitor, built in workout programs, console fan and even the ability to fold up. While serious users may want to upgrade to the highly rated NordicTrack 990, the Audiostrider 600 would be sufficient for those on a tight budget.
